Founded in 2005, Paco & Lola is the result of a business initiative of a group of independent winegrowers from O Salnes who wanted to take their production to a professional level. There growers formed a cooperative called “Sociedad Cooperativa Vitivinicola Arousana”, and now with over 400 members it is the largest cooperative in the DO Rias Baixas.
They now own over 200 hectares of vineyards spread out over 1800 plots of land typical of Galician smallholdings and facilities equipped with the latest viticultural technology. Combined with the regions favourable conditions for growing Albarino grapes (within reach of the Atlantic coast climate, mineral rich granite based sandy soil and low altitude lands), Paco & Lola are famous for producing high quality, good tasting and affordable wines year after year. They are also one of three members of LIFE + Vinas Atlasnticas, an innovative project through which winegrowers are committed to sustainable practices and minimizing the use of chemical products, instead relying on their coordinated Environmental Management System.
And now a bit about the wine: made using grapes grown in the Salnes Valley, this wine is crisp, delicious and full of flavour. With notes of pear, citrus and green apple, it has floral hints and a fresh balance.
